This seminar was the fifth in a series of seminars on ‘bridging’ social capital. It explored how education institutions can promote, along with other partners, community cohesion and social inclusion.

The speakers were:

  • Tom Schuller (NIACE) - who discussed the links between human and social capital, and the direction of the Inquiry into the Future of Lifelong Learning’s thinking on how to promote social capital.

  • Angie Hart (University of Brighton) and Sally Hiscock (Brighton and Hove Community and Voluntary Sector Forum) - reviewing the innovative work of the Community University Partnership Programme at the University of Brighton and suggesting ways forward.
