Seminar 4: Intergenerational Connections

This seminar was the fourth of a series of seminars on ‘bridging’ social capital. It explored how intergenerational practice can promote inclusiveness, collaboration and better understanding across generations.

The speakers were:

  • Beverley Hughes (Minister for Children)  - outlining government’s position and strategy on intergenerational practice.

  • Mariano Sanchez (University of Granada) - presenting an overview of intergenerational practice in Europe and its impact on social capital.

  • Sally Chandler (Manchester City Council) - presenting on how intergenerational practice is being developed in Manchester and highlighting key learning points.

Victoria Dare (Department for Children, Schools and Families) also spoke at this event in relation to Beverley Hughes' introduction on the government's policy on intergenerational practice.
