Keirra Box, founder of Hands Up!, has agreed to speak at the Inquiry/NCVO event on 17 July.
Kierra is a 22 year old activist from London. At 17 she co-founded youth anti-war protest Hands Up For Peace, a movement which collected and displayed artistic protests from over 2,000 young people against the war. She went on to develop Hands Up in 2005, an organisation which is dedicated to providing impartial advice and information about engagement and to highlighting key themes emerging in young people's networks across the UK. Kierra is a trustee of the Young People Now foundation and a Patron of the National Youth Agency, and speaks regularly at national events promoting youth work and consultation. She also writes for a range of publications, previously including The Guardian, Community Care and Young People Now.
